The much-loved Bullumwaal Gold & Gem Expo is returning in 2026! Join us for an unforgettable experience of gold panning, local history and family-friendly fun.
Learn techniques and types of tools used by the experts to recover gold & gems.
Displays of the areas history and associated record collections.
Displays of local gold & gemstones.
Demonstrations of a stamper battery.
Opportunity to pan for gold with expert tuition.
Metal detecting event for the kids - find a token to win a prize!

How to do I get there?
From Bairnsdale, take the Bullumwaal Rd through Wy Yung heading north, and continue on this road for approx 25 minutes.
As you come into Bullumwaal you will see several houses, the Hall will be on your right.
When you pass Mt Alfred Rd on your left, you are only a few hundred meters away.
